Happy Birthday Ross, and a trip to the fair

After waiting forever, Ross finally turned 6 on Wednesday. For the past two weeks, he has asked me every morning if he was 6 yet. Needless to say, he was pretty excited when it finally happened! Because we had celebrated already with his friends, and our families, his actual birthday was going to be pretty low key. WRONG. Ross's friend Keegan called to see if we could go to the county fair and watch the combine demolition derby.
First, we had to look at all the tractors. Keegan really likes tractors. Ross likes honking their horns.




After checking out all of the animals, and having a snack, it was time for the demo derby. A little history-in February, we took Ross and a friend to see the monster trucks at the Metrodome. We were all enjoying ourselves, until intermission, when they had a car and trailer demolition derby. It was really funny-Jeff and I were cracking up. Ross was not. Ross was very concerned about a stuffed gorilla that was riding on one of the trailers. Ross was so concerned about the gorilla, he started to hysterically cry and ended up puking all over. Our evening ended pretty early.
So, I was a little hesitant about the combine demo derby. Even more hesitant when I saw this



I'm not sure if Ross loved it, or hated it, but at least he didn't puke!

Where Did I Come From?

The other night, out of the blue:
Ross: How did you get me?
Me: Ummm, what do you mean?
R: How did you get a son?
Me: You came out of my tummy.
R: Oh. From your belly button?
M: (why wasn't I better prepared for this) No, from a different hole. Kinda by where I go potty.
R: Oh.

The next night, we were out for supper with Sister and Julie when Ross announced:

"I came out of my mommy's butt hole"

Mother of the year award, here I come.
